Florida Hospital Kissimmee opened its doors to the newly expanded Emergency Department on Thursday. This expansion has more than doubled the bed count and has tripled the size to more than 22,000 square feet.  Among the features of the bigger ED are child-friendly rooms, enhanced waiting areas, and better use of natural lighting.

Hospital leaders say this shows how Florida Hospital Kissimmee is committed to meeting the needs of the growing Osceola County community.

“Our primary service area is estimated to grow nearly ten percent in the next five years,” says Administrator JeffVillanueva. “With this expansion we were not only planning for today but also to meet the future health needs of Osceola County.”

Florida Hospital Kissimmee is also building a new patient tower that will feature 80 patient beds and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2015.
